雌酮是一種類似雌三醇和雌二醇的類固醇,屬于雌激素類。雌激素參與了女性性器官的發(fā)育和第二性征的發(fā)生。在卵子受精之前,雌激素的主要作用是對(duì)生殖道的生長(zhǎng)和功能的影響,以便為受精的卵子做好準(zhǔn)備。
在月經(jīng)周期的卵泡期,雌酮水平略有升高。雌酮的產(chǎn)量隨后顯著增加,在周期的第13天達(dá)到高峰。峰值持續(xù)時(shí)間短,到第16天的周期水平將會(huì)很低。第二個(gè)高峰出現(xiàn)在周期的第21天左右,如果不進(jìn)行受精,雌酮的產(chǎn)量就會(huì)減少。雌酮的測(cè)定有助于監(jiān)測(cè)卵巢功能,預(yù)測(cè)排卵,評(píng)估促排卵治療的效果。

Estrone is a steroid like estriol and estradiol, belonging to the class of estrogens. The estrogens are involved in the development of female sex organs and secondary sex characteristics. Before the ovum is fertilized the main action of the estrogens is on the growth and function of the reproductive tract in order to prepare it for the fertilized ovum.
During the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle the estrone level shows a slight increase. The production of estrone then increases markedly to peak at around day 13 of the cycle. The peak is of short duration and by day 16 of the cycle levels will be low. A second peak occurs at around day 21 of the cycle and if fertilization does not occur, then the production of estrone decreases. The measurement of estrone is useful for monitoring ovarian function, in predicting ovulation, in assessing the effect of therapy to induce ovulation.
The measurement of estrone in saliva is an attractive alternative to plasma analysis because its non-invasive, stress-free procedure makes serial sampling easy. Some research appears to confirm that estrone concentrations in saliva approximate the unbound-estrone in plasma therefore provide a more accurate indication of endocrine activity.
